We love music at Old Pine. Old Pine’s most famous music director was Louis Redner, who is the composer of the Christmas carol, “O Little Town of Bethlehem.” During the summer of 1998 an historic J. W. Steere Pipe Organ was installed, a wonderful instrument heard in all of our services. We are currently blessed by the leadership of music director Tom Faracco, who leads the choir from September through May. The ensemble consists of approximately twenty gifted volunteers and professional section leaders, who sing a wide variety of repertoire, ranging from Bach Cantatas to gospel music. If you are interested in singing with the choir, or play an instrument, please see Tom at coffee hour or email him for more information.
Although our foundation is excellent choral music, we delight in diversity. Several times a year, we hold jazz services, led by member and musician Warren Cooper. We also welcome contributions from members who perform songs from virtually every genre of music.
