Community and Mission

Mission is Central to our Community

Throughout our long history, we have ministered to the needs of our local community. This has involved supporting injured troops in the Revolutionary and Civil Wars, English language classes and vocational training for immigrants during the late 1800s, and outreach to the poor in the early 1900s. In the 1970s, we were one of the first churches in Philadelphia to open its rooms to meetings of Alcoholics Anonymous. We continue to be a center of AA meetings in the city.

Among our many partnerships, we are currently invested in the food ministries of Bethel Presbyterian Church in North Philadelphia. We send funding, food, and volunteers to Bethel to help provide nutritious food to those in need.

We welcome everyone to join us in our outreach efforts. To learn about upcoming service opportunities, sign up for our weekly e-newsletter.
